Café Amaretto

I first had a version of this drink in the Caribbean 10-plus years ago and it’s been my staple Christmas treat ever since. There’s enough sweetness (not to mention alcohol) to kickstart an elephant in this thing, so sip slowly on this decadent dessert— not that I ever can. —CFG


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz (jigger) Disaronno cherry almond liqueur

  • 1 pull of espresso (approx. 1 1/2oz) -OR- 4oz of strongly brewed coffee

  • 3oz hot water (skip if using brewed coffee)

  • Canned whipped cream

  • Maraschino cherry, almond shavings, chocolate shavings (optional toppings)


Directions

  1. Add 1 1/2 oz of liqueur to an Irish coffee mug (or other heat proof glass).

  2. Pull one shot of espresso -OR- brew 4oz of strongly brewed coffee.

  3. Add the espresso and 3oz of hot water to the mug -OR- add 4oz of strongly brewed coffee.

  4. Top with canned whipped cream and optional toppings.

  5. Serve and enjoy!
